Lunar Forest Familiar
When the moon turns her face to the treetops, she is there waiting. She watches over the canopy waiting for the moon to brighten the evening with a celestial glow unlike any other. This transient friend and her stalwart companion enrobed in inky tones of blue and iridescent flashes of rainbow colour.
Tonight, it is crescent and that is noted by the owl, a sharp moon, an indication of change. She is mindful of the shift in season, the pull of poles, and the brisk wind that ruffles her domain.
The scurrying sounds of the forest floor are not her concern. The roots know their business.
She marks the passage of time with her friend, the moon, and in time it's full light will be upon her.
Other creatures believe the moon is dull, grey, a hole in the sky at times. But she knows, the moon is mercurial, beautiful, full of colour, and an echo of what is, what will be, and even what was. It is in the best interest of all that she stand here at the door to that power to keep it safe through the night.
Drops of moonbeams brought to her by other critters, and keys to the unknown are worn as badges of office, and talismans to the knowledge she possesses.
Will you invite her to join you? She is content to watch, learn, and converse at leisure. She knows that all things pass and return in their own time, she's been the sole witness to this constant at times. She has a gentle tread and a peaceful heart, all she needs is a view...
